I don't know but i think it'd be a bit much. I understand that ravens can't just downgrade to lower tier close range weapons.
On the other hand torps do outdamage megapulses and neutrons already(from 0-45km). And unlike others the raven can not only field a comparable buffer tank but even an active tank(which few of the other bs can) on top of it. Others can tackle in exchange but thats just it imo. Every ship should have it drawbacks. It should do some things better than others but some considerably worse. Raven as it is now is already very versatile imo.
Making it easy to fit shield transfers on top of it seems a bit much imo.
Another point is you say the limiting factor for armor tankers is pg. In reality its more cpu. Try fit a geddon or megathron and you will know.
With megapulses, mwd and plate tank i don't get a remote armor rep either on my geddon or apoc. And its because of cpu so whats the deal? I see no problem here.

Originally by: Wrayeth Okay, have any of you ever tried to fit a large shield transporter on a torp raven? It's not just hard - it's impossible. It requires about 70 to 100 CPU more than you can spare.
Not "more" impossible then for a geddon or apoc. Have you tried fitting one?

These days torp ravens have to have MWD, injector, and XL booster in addition to their launchers, and that leaves precious little left to fit anything else.
Why do you "need" an XL booster? Neither mega nor geddon, apoc or phoon/tempest can field a comparable active tank with biggest guns and lrars on top of that. Fit a buffer tank like everyone else(especially if working with remote reps/transfers).

In fact, the torp raven setup I'm usually forced to run with has its last two highslots EMPTY. That's how crappy the fittings are. (BTW, did I mention that's with a reactor control II and a co-processor II?)
Others can't even active tank in any feasible way when fitting for max gank - think about that. What an outrage.

I challenge all of you to fit out a torp raven and try to cram on a large remote shield transporter on a realistic setup.
Buffer tank it and use some cpu imps and it should work. However you totally ignored how all the other bs can't just go and fit anything they want either. Balance and such, eh?

So the apoc needs to downgrade to lowest tier guns? And you think that compares just fine?

The raven isn't fitting the "biggest guns"; it's fitting the only short range weapons suite available to it. It should not be made completely incapable of fitting remote reps just because there is less variety in missile launchers than turrets.
Yes it is fitting the biggest guns. The dps of torps is balanced against megapulses and neutron blaster cannons in case you did not notice.

Everyone else does not have to fit a buffer tank. Case in point, my AC tempest:
I said everyone who wants to fit mwd + biggest weapons + lrar on a tier1/tier2 bs has to fit a buffer tank. Are dual 425 the biggest tier acs now?
The damage of that tempest and raven isn't even in the same universe. Thats unbalanced bull****.

The simple fact is that shield tankers are gimped in PvP at the moment, and people like you are so afraid of Caldari ever being PvP capable that you drag down all attempts at making PvPing with a Caldari ship equally as desirable as PvPing with another races' ships.
blablabla. Cry more but its not gonna happen.

Well, actually, dual 425's are like 40 dps behind 800's
so its just the autos that suck in general
Yeah the fact that the OP's raven had biggest shortrange weapons and three damage mods and the tempest smallest acs with 1 damage mod had absolutely nothing to do with it.
